Hi, I’m Annie, and I’m the personal chef behind home foods!
I’m a self taught home cook, baker, and artist, and I love sharing food with others. From the time I was four, I found the kitchen to be a place of joy, thanks to my family. My grandmother taught me how to bake early on, and my parents allowed the kitchen to be a place of experimentation and joy, creating room to try new recipes based on a cookbook or an experience from a restaurant. For this reason, it’s an absolute thrill of mine to to study new pairings and recipes for elevated eating experiences.
Since those early days at home, I’ve taught classes to diverse public school student groups in Michigan and New Jersey, developing recipes that could be used based on cultural and dietary needs. I had the privilege of attending graduate school with people from all over the world (China, India, Indonesia, Germany) where we swapped techniques and bites between classes. While this wasn’t a formal education in culinary arts, I learned so much from my friends and adapted my own recipes based on their advice.
Ingredients are sourced from organic stores or local farmers as much as possible. I believe what you eat has a large impact on your overall health and wellbeing, and is to be enjoyed in the process.
Kick back and relax; let me make your meal!
